# Setup Instructions

## Prerequisites
- **Python 3.x**: Ensure Python is installed on your machine.
- **MySQL Database**: A running MySQL database instance.
- **Virtual Environment**: Highly recommended to isolate dependencies.

## Installation

1. **Clone the repository**:
   ```bash
   git clone <repository_url>
   cd emi-checkout
   ```

2. **Create and Activate Virtual Environment**:
   ```bash
   python3 -m venv venv
   source venv/bin/activate
   ```

3. **Install Dependencies**:
   ```bash
   pip install -r requirements.txt
   ```

4. **Environment Variables**:
   Create a `.env` file in the root directory based on the variables required in `config.py`. Ensure all required variables such as `DB_HOST`, `DB_PASSWORD`, `SECRET_KEY`, third-party keys (Digio, Karza, etc.) are correctly set.

## Running the Application

### Development Server
You can start the Flask development server using:
```bash
python emi_app.py
```

### Production Server
For production, use the provided `gunicorn` or `wsgi.sh` scripts:
```bash
sh gunicorn.sh
# OR
sh wsgi.sh
```

## Docker Setup
The project also includes a `Dockerfile`. To build and run using Docker:
```bash
docker build -t emi-checkout .
docker run -p <PORT>:<PORT> --env-file .env emi-checkout
```
